Join us for a cozy evening, on a rare opportunity hosted by East Sac’s neigborhood bookstore, East Village Bookshop. There will be wine from Amador City’s End of Nowhere, and a rich conversation on the collaborative process of storytelling through words, design, and maps.
Until Mildly Scenic, many of the trails along the Lower American River parkway were never mapped — Not online, not in books, not on park maps. Learn about the challenge this posed, how Sac State’s Geography Department swooped in to support the project, how Greg Traverso worked his design magic, and how the vision of this mildly useful trail guide came to fruition!
$25/ticket, includes a copy of Mildly Scenic and refreshments.
Panelists for the evening will include:
Ashley Shult Langdon, author of Mildly Scenic
Greg Traverso, Graphic Designer and Brand Developer
Anna Klimaszewki-Patterson, Professor of Geography
Matt Schmidtlein, Professor and Chair of Geography
